I am a Nigerian visual artist working across painting, sculpture, and mixed media. My practice explores cultural identity, heritage, beauty, and everyday experiences, with a strong focus on Nigerian and African traditions. I draw inspiration from indigenous symbols, people, materials, and cultural practices, transforming them into contemporary artworks. Through my work, I seek to preserve cultural narratives, celebrate African identity, and encourage a deeper appreciation of our heritage while exploring new possibilities in materials and artistic expression.

My work explores emotion, perception, and the human experience through vibrant figurative and urban paintings. I work primarily with acrylic on canvas, using bold color and light to create atmosphere and narrative. My cityscape piece captures the quiet energy of urban life after rain, using a contrast of cool blues and striking reds to reflect both solitude and vitality, with reflections creating a dreamlike depth. My second piece depicts a blindfolded violinist surrounded by butterflies. It is a symbolic representation of inner vision — playing from the soul without needing physical sight. The butterflies represent freedom, hope, and transformation, suggesting that true art comes from within. Through my art, I aim to tell stories that words cannot, inviting viewers to feel, reflect, and connect with deeper emotions.

My portfolio features conceptual and expressive artworks exploring identity, spirituality, human experience, and the tensions between personal conviction and societal expectations. Through charcoal drawing, acrylic painting, symbolism, and expressive composition, I develop visual narratives that communicate ideas beyond literal representation. My works include pieces that examine hope, freedom, psychological struggle, identity, and the relationship between the visible and invisible aspects of human experience. Each work begins with an idea or question that guides its visual development, with the intention of encouraging reflection and inviting viewers to engage with the subject beyond its surface appearance. I am continually developing my practice and exploring ways to communicate complex ideas through visual art.

The title Hard Touch reflects the harsh realities of life and the difficult experiences that shape the youth. Beyond physical combat, the artwork represents the invisible battles young Nigerians face in their search for identity, dignity, financial independence, and success. It highlights a generation that continues to struggle, adapt, and hope for a better tomorrow, even when the odds are against them.

My work explores memory, human connection, separation, healing, and faith. I work across different mediums, including oil, acrylic, canvas, and traditional Nigerian handwoven textile (ofi/aso-oke). I’m interested in how materials, objects, and personal experiences can carry emotions and tell stories. A lot of my work comes from my experiences growing up, observing people and relationships, and reflecting on the presence of God in our everyday lives. I see art as a way of processing life, expressing what words sometimes cannot, and creating a space for connection and healing.
